Jordan Bratton Talks “Youth” EP | Tour w/ Somo & Kirko Bangz | Producing & More on @MFWERadio

You’ve got to understand music’s traditions in order to reinvent them. Jordan Bratton certainly does. The 18-year-old singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer possesses a prodigious grasp on all aspects of music. His critically applauded 2014 mixtape, The Grey Area, and debut single “Danger 3” are wholly the products of his personal production and songwriting vision. Armed with a multitude of talents, he stands poised to truly break ground.

At only four-years-old, the New York native realized his innate passion for singing. Encouraged by his “musical” family, he joined the choir in Kindergarten and enjoyed his first moment in the spotlight singing a solo at Lincoln Center during the holidays. Young Jordan also learned the drums before picking up piano and organ at age eleven followed by guitar, bass, and even clarinet. Immersed in the likes of Earth Wind & Fire and Kim Burrell among other R&B and gospel icons, he even started performing live with his dad’s band as well as playing organ at church. @MFWERadio #FaceTimeWithTheStars: Sebastian Mikael (Premiere Show)

Welcome to #FaceTimeWithTheStars we welcome R&B/Soul Recording Artist, Sebastian Mikael. His best known for his hit single “Last Night” featuring Wale. Having released his debut album, “Speechless”, Sebastian has been touring and promoting the album non-stop. Now wrapping up his new album set later this year – David Duane got a chance to discuss the success of the first album and more. Check It Out !

Sebastian Mikael

Before long, Sebastian Mikael’s newfound passion led him to clocking long hours at Swedish recording studios, singing hooks for rappers and teaming up with a local producer to form a production team. But while the duo’s initial recordings generated a lot of online buzz, Sebastian Mikael was eager to strike out on his own. “I saw the initial potential of the work we were doing,” he says, “but I wasn’t getting a shot at doing my own songs. Plus, they are not as open-minded about music in Sweden as they are in the U.S.”

Feeling a glass ceiling approaching in Sweden, Sebastian Mikael set his sights on America and enrolled at California’s Musicians Institute to study audio engineering in 2008. After living in California for two years, he relocated to Boston in 2010 to attend Berklee College of Music. While a student at Berklee, Sebastian was signed by Slip-N-Slide Records CEO Ted Lucas and in late 2011 he released his first mixtape, J’Adore. As Sebastian stays on the road to promote the new single, he is also putting the final touches to his hotly anticipated forthcoming full-length debut album “Speechless” due out in late 2013 in a joint venture between Slip-N-Slide Records and Caroline/Capitol Records. During the recording process, he has collaborated with some of the finest producers and songwriters in the business, including Jim Jonsin and Rico Love.
