Sweet melodies, soft background and powerful leads would be the only way to describe the unique yet soulful sound of R&B Songstress, Bahja Rodriguez. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia; the 21-year old singer/songwriter channels her dynamic presence and vibrant delivery in each project released. Fueled with an inherited talent in music and melodies, Bahja’s passion derives from her artistry and the support she continuously receives from fans worldwide. Bahja’s professional career began at the tender age of 12 years old as “Miss Beauty” in the popular girl group “OMG Girlz.” The group is credited mostly for their songs “Gucci This, Gucci That,” “Where the Boys At,” “Baddie,” and “Boy It’s Over.” The group disbanded in March 2015 mutually. In December 2017, the young ladies rejoined on stage for a one time guest performance at the Great Xscape Tour.
Determined to not break from her passion musically during the abrupt end of the group’s identity; Bahja continued to pursue her career as a solo artist. In April 2015, the songstress released her first song entitled “Jealous Type” that gained over 1 million streaming impressions within days of its release. Following this release, Bahja countered the buzz with the release of her debut EP entitled “It Gets Better.” The project charted to a peak of #6 in sales via iTunes R&B album charting, as well as, peaked on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums charts at #10. Dedicated to her craft and solidifying her consistency to win in her position, Bahja Rodriguez released her second project entitled “Luv” November 2016. The project appeared on the sales charting list via iTunes at #29, as well as, peaking at #8 via Billboard Heatseekers chart.
Channeling her growth as an adult woman coming into another phase of her life personally and professionally, Bahja took from personal situations in her life and expresses those thoughts in her newest and third EP project entitled “Take 3.” The project is set for a digital release on May 18, 2018. The singer took to social media to announce the project with the official cover artwork and title in caption with date causing talks of anticipation from her loyal fans. Production on this compilation comes exclusive. Excited about the growth in her musical delivery and lyrical keen, Bahja spoke on the concept and direction of her new project “Take 3”— “This project was made to give a fresh and diverse take on women who are in the music industry from Atlanta. My focus was to take a stance for the soulful high-spirited women who make the culture of Atlanta vibrant more mainstream. This project is filled with fun, soul, dance, upbeat in its production that people worldwide can still relate and vibe to no matter the ethnicity or age group. This is introducing a new side of Bahja Rodriguez that has evolved as a woman yet resonates in a new layer of confidence.”
