Day26’s story is already well-known to their fans, millions of whom tuned in watch it unfold on MTV’s Making the Band 4 (Which became the highest rated show in MTV history). When Sean “Diddy” Combs put out the call for vocalists in January of 2007, he was looking for talented newcomers with super- star potential and a tireless work ethic. What he got when Robert, Will, Brian, Mike and Qwanell (who later resigned from the group in December of 2009), was more than he or the fans could have ever anticipated.
On August 26, 2007, the lives of ve young men were changed forever. On that day, they became DAY26. DAY26’s self-titled debut album enter the record books as the biggest-selling de- but album from a male R&B group in the 17-year history of SoundScan. The album – which included the hit singles, “Got Me Going” and “Since You Been Gone” – exploded into the #1 spot on the SoundScan/Billboard 200 in its rst week of release, while also topping Billboard’s “Top R&B/Hip-Hop Al- bums” chart.
As the guys struggled with realizing their dreams amidst breakups, hookups and ghts that shook the home they shared with MTB’s Danity Kane and Donnie, their fans have
gained unprecedented access to the highs and lows of fame. “It’s de nitely a blessing and a curse at the same time,” laughs Brian. “The fans actually get to see who Day26 is as individuals and how we mesh together.” It’s a process that has only strengthened them as a group, and helped evolve the sound on “Forever In A Day”
“Forever In A Day”, the group’s sophomore album gave the guys the opportunity to show the world how they’d grown personally and artistically. “Forever In A Day”, included the hit single, “Imma Put It On Her (Feat. Yung Joc & Diddy)” – and soared into Billboard’s “Top R&B/ Hip-Hop Albums” chart at #1, while also landing at #2 on the comprehensive Billboard 200 with First week sales in excess of 113,000. Shortly after the touring and promot- ing of the “Forever In A Day” album, Day26 decided to took a group hectic and embark on solo endeavors.
After a two year hiatus, Day26 publicly announced their reunion as a group with all ve original members on Thursday, November 21st 2013. Reveling details on their social media that they’ll be releasing a new album and plans for a reunion tour. They have recently signed with
King Bridge and BMG Chrysalis in May 2014. Day26 has also released their new hit single – “Bullshit” from their new EP, “The Return” which will be available for free download on Thursday, June 26th for their loyal supporters.
Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter, actor and author Ashanti is a native of Glen Cove, Long Island. Ashanti burst onto the music scene with her 2002 smash hit, self-titled debut album “Ashanti.” It landed the #1 spot on both the Billboard Top 200 and R&B album charts, selling a whopping 504,593 units in its first week. Her first week showing set a SoundScan record as the most albums sold by any debut female artist in the chart’s history, granting her a spot on Guinness World Records. Ashanti’s forthcoming album, the highly-anticipated “Braveheart” will be released this summer on Written Entertainment and distributed by eOne Music. The album features the heart-wrenching single, “Never Should Have.” “Braveheart” also included the tracks “The Woman You Love” featuring Busta Rhymes and “That’s What We Do” featuring R. Kelly. Ashanti made her directorial debut for her video “The Woman You Love.” All three tracks are currently available on iTunes. She is certainly considered a mogul in this business!
Atlantic Records recording artist K. MICHELLE has announced plans for her North American Summer tour, “HELLO KIMBERLY.” The eagerly anticipated dates get underway July 12th at Boston, MA’s House of Blues and continue through mid-August. The tour will showcase songs from K. In 1999, ABC began airing one of the first reality shows in major network history, “Making the Band”, which chronicled the formation and rise to success of the boy band, O-Town. The public tuned in to watch as Trevor Penick, Jacob Underwood, Erik-Michael Estrada, Ashley Parker Angel, & Dan Miller signed with Clive Davis’ J Records, released the #1 singles “Liquid Dreams” and “All or Nothing”, and achieved platinum success with their debut album. Despite their success, the band broke up in 2004 both to escape an unfair record contract and to pursue individual endeavors.
After a crash course in the entertainment industry in their early twenties, the guys have enjoyed branching off into different facets of the entertainment business. Their first experience left them with a desire to become more educated, seeing first hand how incredibly complicated (and sometimes corrupt) the industry can be.
